Workday Compensation Functional Lead supports and maintains the global HRIS Workday. This role serves as a primary contact for issue resolution, configuration, requirements gathering, intake, and business process design changes that result in functional configuration of Elanco’s Workday Compensation module. Responsible for helping to ensure data integrity, testing of system changes and analyzing business processes for improvement opportunities. Workday modules supported include Core and Advanced Compensation.
Responsibilities- Provide Workday functional consulting and direction to CoEs, HR functions (Talent Management, HR Operations, Benefits) and business stakeholders.
- Design and configure Compensation and Advanced Compensation components in Workday, including salary, hourly, allowance, and bonus plans.
- Configure compensation grids and guidelines, merit, promotion, and bonus cycles, and compensation eligibility rules.
- Set up compensation review processes and maintain calculated fields, condition rules, and workflows specific to compensation.
- Collaborate with Compensation and Total Rewards teams to gather requirements and translate them into functional Workday solutions.
- Configure and support Annual Compensation Review (ACP) processes, including cycle launches, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Develop custom reports and dashboards to support compensation analytics and governance.
- Participate in Workday semi-annual releases, review new features, perform regression testing, and implement improvements.
- Support compensation-related security configurations, ensuring proper access and compliance.
- Use EIBs and data loads to support compensation cycles and configuration changes.
- Document configurations, test scripts, training materials, and process flows.
Assist in formulating procedures and best practices for users of HRIS systems related to the supported functional areas. Propose, document and implement new or revised processes to improve data integrity, security management, configuration, and the consistent use of HR data. Monitor Workday processes to ensure alignment with documentation and comply with applicable laws and SOX requirements.
Minimum Requirements- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or HS Diploma/GED with relevant experience. - Required Experience:
Minimum 2 years of Workday experience;
Workday compensation knowledge preferred. - Minimum 3 years of experience in HR Operations, HRIS, HR Technology, or IT with emphasis in Workday configuration.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytic and diagnostic skills with a data-driven approach.
- Experience with Job Architecture is a plus but not required.
- Accuracy and thoroughness in meeting customer needs in a timely manner.
- Ability to refine processes based on best practices and work across cultures and diverse management styles.
