The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division is currently hiring for temporary/on-call Banquet Set-Ups staff at The Morris Inn in our campus Hospitality department. The UOES division oversees the University's event management, hospitality, and customer service functions, while also supporting student life, academic initiatives, research activities, and annual milestone celebrations. The Morris Inn is a AAA Four Diamond Hotel and sits at the heart of Notre Dame’s storied campus.
It continues to be the “living room” of the University of Notre Dame where guests will find the perfect atmosphere in which to enjoy a business lunch, family gathering, special occasion or a casual meal.
- Banquet Set-Ups:
This role will play a crucial part in preparing our banquet spaces for a wide range of events, ensuring every detail is meticulously arranged to exceed our guests expectations. - Setting up meeting rooms, dining rooms and any public spaces with appropriate equipment and materials (tables and chairs, linens, A/V equipment, bars, podium, dance floors, etc.).
- Gather supplies for banquet events and place them in the banquet room for Banquet Service Staff prior to scheduled events.
- Empty trash from all function areas and banquet service areas.
- Change linen and place it in the correct areas for cleaning by the linen company.
- Vacuum, dust, and perform cleaning duties after all functions in meeting rooms.
- Clean and mop storerooms, pantry, ballroom hallway, and other areas as directed.
- Transport food to banquet service areas and remove dishes to the dish room in a timely manner.
- Store equipment and materials neatly in proper areas and inventory materials as directed by Supervisor or Managers.
- Capable of managing time effectively with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 6 hours at a time)
- Ability to move, lift and handle equipment, supplies and other objects weighing up to 25 pounds
Pay Rate: $17.50/hr
