Job Description
The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division is currently hiring for temporary/on-call In-Room Dining Servers in Rohr's in our campus Hospitality department . The UOES division oversees the University’s event management, hospitality, and customer service functions, while also supporting student life, academic initiatives, research activities, and annual milestone celebrations.
In-Room Dining ServerAs an In-Room Dining (IRD) Server, you will be responsible for providing detailed and expeditious food and beverage service directly to our guests in various settings. This role is crucial in ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience in accordance with all University Operations, Events, and Safety Hospitality Standards.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, transport, and serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic food and beverage items, as well as amenities, to hotel guest rooms, banquet meeting rooms, and dining rooms.
- Exercise extreme discretion and exemplary professionalism while in and around guest rooms and private areas.
- Bus tables and efficiently remove service items from guest rooms, hotel hallways, meeting and banquet dining rooms, the hotel lobby, terrace, and other designated areas.
- Lift and carry trays for beverage and food service according to established standards.
- Respond immediately to any safety and cleanliness concerns within the work environment.
- Perform tasks repeatedly and re-prioritize assigned tasks as needed to support service for other team members.
- Provide concierge services, including sharing knowledge of food and beverage offerings, Notre Dame, South Bend, and specific events on and around campus.
- Anticipate guest needs and proactively suggest and offer additional items to enrich their experience.
- Clean and maintain all Room Service equipment and supplies.

Qualifications- Capable of managing time effectively with minimal supervision
- Positive, respectful, excellent communication and listening skills
- Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 6 hours at a time)
- Follow food safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food products
Pay Rate: $12/hr + tips
