Moving Forward DME, a leading durable medical equipment (DME) provider based in Carmel, Indiana, is seeking a motivated and results-driven Medical Sales Representative to join our growing team. We specialize in custom rehabilitation power wheelchairs, custom manual wheelchairs, standard power wheelchairs, bracing solutions, and other mobility products. Position OverviewAs a Medical Sales Representative at Moving Forward DME, you will drive revenue growth by building and maintaining strong relationships with healthcare providers, physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, discharge planners, case managers, and other referral sources. You will promote our specialized mobility and bracing solutions, focusing on complex rehab equipment and custom orthotics, while ensuring compliance with Medicare, insurance, and regulatory requirements.
This role combines consultative selling, territory management, clinical education, and exceptional customer service to help patients regain independence and mobility.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve or exceed monthly/quarterly sales quotas and revenue targets in your assigned territory.
- Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with key referral sources including physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, rehab centers, home health agencies, and other healthcare professionals.
- Conduct in-person and virtual product demonstrations, clinical in-services, and educational presentations on our power wheelchairs, manual wheelchairs, custom seating/positioning systems, and bracing products.
- Collaborate closely with our internal clinical team (including Assistive Technology Professionals – ATPs) to ensure accurate equipment recommendations and smooth order processing.
- Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, needs assessment, prior authorization support, delivery coordination, and post-delivery follow-up to drive repeat/referral business.
- Stay current on Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance guidelines, competitive landscape, and industry trends in durable medical equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline in CRM system.
- Attend trade shows, conferences, and networking events to increase brand visibility and generate leads.
- Provide white-glove service to patients and referral sources, emphasizing our commitment to Giving Back, Delivering Care, and Advancing Health.
- 1+ years of proven B2B medical sales experience, preferably in DME, orthotics/prosthetics, rehab equipment, home health, or related healthcare fields.
- Strong understanding of Medicare DMEPOS regulations, HCPCS coding, documentation requirements, and the prior authorization process is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with healthcare professionals.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated with a hunter mentality and strong organizational/time-management abilities.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within assigned territory (primarily regional, with occasional overnight as needed).
- Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce or similar), Microsoft Office, and virtual meeting tools.
- Clinical background (e.g., ATP, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or nursing) is a plus but not required.
- A willingness to learn and positive attitude.
