Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center, Indiana's first community mental health center, provides comprehensive care for emotional and behavioral problems, including severe mental illness and substance abuse. The Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center offers both inpatient and outpatient services, including several outreach centers as well as clinic- and community-based services.

The Licensed Therapist - CCBHC performs a variety of individual, family and group therapeutic interventions utilizing evidence-based practices (“EBP”) specific to Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (“CCBHC”) certification. This position manages a caseload of clients by identifying therapeutic, rehabilitative and case management needs, engaging other team members in meeting these needs as indicated.
- A key aspect of your role involves collaborating with other team members to address and fulfill identified needs, ensuring a comprehensive and coordinated effort in meeting the varied requirements of the clients under your care.
- As a Licensed Clinician, implement effective and evidence-informed interventions to support the well-being and progress of individuals and their families.
- Embrace, understand, and operate under the Recovery Model, including AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) and the spirit of motivational interviewing.
- Adhere to regulatory requirements for CCBHC regarding client treatment, including crisis prevention planning and crisis safety planning.
- Utilize advanced certifications and skills in EBPs to deliver treatment to fidelity of therapeutic interventions and treatment models specific to the population served.
- Prepare clinical treatment plans and complete biopsychosocial evaluations (BPSE), integrating information gathered by the team and developing the integrated diagnostic summary in consultation with the client and family.
- Manage a caseload of clients by identifying therapeutic, rehabilitative and case management needs; engage other team members in meeting these needs; provide quality case management services as indicated; monitor client progress and reflect this in clinical documentation.
- Perform a variety of individual, family and group EBP therapeutic interventions utilizing EBPs specific to CCBHC certification.
- Evaluate and update the treatment plan at intervals determined by guidelines, consulting with client family and team in this process.
- Provide care coordination, skills training and development to clients in group and individual settings as guided by medical necessity outlined in the person-centered treatment plan.
- Provide crisis management and emergency interventions including, but not limited to, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and approved area-specific crisis intervention techniques.
- Report to treatment team in staffing events, including successes and challenges, assessment of client progress, barriers to success, and any level of care changes.
- Advocate for clients to ensure access to needed services, including developing community relationships and resources.
- Meet the agency’s standard of providing the appropriate service at the right time, right place, and right frequency as determined by the client’s level of need.
- Meet the agency’s standard of timely completion of all documentation, including interpreting and applying service and billing procedures according to client needs, and completing billing according to guidelines for timeliness and accuracy.
- Serve as a clinical resource for less experienced staff.
- Establish and maintain a safe environment at all times through ongoing milieu/appointment environment assessment and intervention as indicated in the person-centered treatment plan and by nursing or physician order.
- Identify any high-risk client symptoms or circumstances that would result in risk for self-harm or harm to others and notify appropriate higher level clinical staff for consultation.
