Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role as a Histotechnician based in Indianapolis, IN. The Histotechnician will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tasks, including processing, embedding, cutting, staining, and preparing biological specimens for examination by pathologists. Other responsibilities include maintaining equipment, following safety protocols, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of results. This role plays a vital part in providing critical diagnostic information to medical teams.
Qualifications- Experience in tissue processing techniques such as embedding, sectioning, staining, and slide preparation
- Proficiency in laboratory protocols, procedures, and use of specialized equipment
- Strong attention to detail for maintaining accuracy and quality in specimen preparation
- Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and regulatory compliance standards
- Effective organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to collaborate with healthcare professionals and communicate technical information effectively
- Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) through a recognized accrediting body is preferred
- Relevant associate's or bachelor's degree in a health or laboratory science-related field
- Previous experience in a healthcare or laboratory setting is a plus
