Overview
Summit Home Care and Hospice is searching for an experienced and motivated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Home Health team. We’re committed to providing comprehensive healthcare services in the comfort of our patients' homes to positively impact quality of life by redefining the delivery of care.
Details- Shift: Dayshift, Monday - Friday (40 Hours/Week)
- Pay Rate: $22.00 per Hour
- Location:
Indianapolis, IN & Surrounding Areas - Expected Travel: ~30 Mile Radius (Mileage Reimbursement, $0.48/Mile)
- A member of the home care team who works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or therapist and performs various personal care services as necessary to meet the patient's needs.
- Responsible for observing patients, reporting these observations, and documenting observations and care performed.
- Will be assigned by a Registered Nurse in a manner that promotes quality, continuity, and safety of a patient s care.
- Provide personal care including, but not limited to the following:
- Bathing and/or shampooing hair.
- Assisting with oral hygiene.
- Back rubs/massages as necessary.
- Changing bed linens and assisting with other laundry as appropriate.
- Assisting with dressing and undressing.
- Administering skin care to prevent breakdown.
- Helping with toileting activities.
- Maintaining a clean and orderly living area for patients, as needed.
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals and assist in feeding the patient, if necessary.
- Take and record oral, rectal, and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency).
- Assist in ambulation and exercise according to the plan of care.
- Perform range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency).
- Assist patient in the self-administration of medication.
- Meet the safety needs of patients and use equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, etc.).
- Report on patient s condition and significant changes to the assigned nurse.
- Adhere to the organization s documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct.
- Meets the training and licenses requirements in accordance with state and federal laws for a CNA.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Current licensure in state and CPR certification.
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is in good working order and insured in accordance with the organization s requirements.
- Recent TB test, required.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care that is given.
- Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
- Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and impaired.
- Demonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygiene.
