Lab Assistant II

Job Summary

This position independently provides support to the bioanalytical laboratory and facilitates the successful conduct of studies.

• Displays good working knowledge of routine use and maintenance of equipment relevant to area
• Performs equipment verifications and calibrations (pipettes, balances, pH meters, plate readers, etc)
• Prepares reagents, buffers, and other study related solutions as needed
• Provides general lab cleaning, expired reagent monitoring, and glassware washing
• Manages the inventory, ordering, E-Workbook registration, storage, organization, and disposal of laboratory supplies, including critical reagents, chemicals, consumables, and matrix
• Performs test article / reference material weighings, if appropriate
• Performs freezer and refrigerator maintenance, oversees organization
• Maintains water systems, performs readings, or sends samples out for testing
• Provides ideas, supports, and participates in process improvement initiatives
• Maintains a clean and safe laboratory work environment; demonstrates understanding of Health and Safety compliance by ensuring policies/SOPs and training are up to date
• May train or assist less experienced staff
• Performs other related duties as assigned

• 1-2 years of laboratory experience or Associate Degree in related field

• High School diploma / educated to A-level or equivalent plus 1-2 years of laboratory experience or Associate Degree in related field

Pay Range: $20-$22 per hour
