Job Description
Exciting opportunity for an analytical chemist who would specialize in being a Mass Spec Specialist, where you will perform routine analyses on LCMS systems in compliance with applicable methods, protocols, SOPs, and regulatory agency guidelines.
You will engage in complex analyses using new methods and technologies while performing in-depth cleaning and maintenance of instrumentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities- Independently start routine analyses on LCMS systems in compliance with applicable methods, protocols, SOPs, and regulatory agency guidelines.
- Conduct complex analyses using new methods and technologies, seeking scientific guidance as necessary.
- Document work, maintain study documentation, and laboratory records following appropriate regulatory documentation practices, and perform QC review of data.
- Operate laboratory equipment independently, including system setup and general maintenance as directed by SOP, and resolve equipment-related issues.
- Participate in project meetings, providing input and participating in planning, monitoring, and guiding project work for timely completion.
- Inform Study Director, Lead Scientist, and/or management of any issues that may affect data integrity, participating in corrective actions.
- Contribute to a cohesive team environment, effectively managing multiple assignments and coordinating workload with team members.
- Identify technical issues, communicate them to the study team, and participate in or lead troubleshooting experiments.
- Lead or co-lead process improvement initiatives and maintain a clean, safe laboratory work environment.
- Author or peer-review policies, SOPs, guides, and new processes, ensuring alignment with regulatory guidelines.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in applicable areas for HPLCs, mass spectrometers, or site processes.
- Train, mentor, or assist less experienced staff.
- Participate in client visits, communicating method-related or technical information as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of analytical chemistry experience.
- At least 6+ months of experience with HPLC and LCMS.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in Troubleshooting, Calibrating, Method Development or Method Validation.
- Proficiency with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.25/hr.
