Effective 1 April 2026 – following the Agenda for Change full time working week reduction from 37 to 36 hours with corresponding hourly rate increase
The Emergency Medicine Research Group Edinburgh (EMERGE) coordinates and supports an expanding portfolio of research, audit and service improvement. The post holder will play a key role in ensuring that data relating to research projects and clinical research studies is collected and maintained to the highest quality standards. The role involves providing organisational and administrative management to projects and clinical research studies, and promoting and assisting the ongoing development of systems and processes that support quality data collection and study information management.
Responsibilities- Ensure data relating to research projects and clinical research studies is collected and maintained to the highest quality standards.
- Provide organisational and administrative management to projects and clinical research studies.
- Promote and assist the ongoing development of systems and processes which support quality data collection and study information management.
- Understand the dynamic and challenging environment of the Emergency Department and translate this into research activity.
- Work alongside senior research nurses and be supported by the EMERGE team.
- Enthusiastic person with genuine interest in clinical research.
- Experience working in research and/or the Emergency Department and/or acute care setting.
- Clinical research and/or project management experience in these areas is advantageous.
- Ability to understand the dynamic and challenging environment of the ED and translate this into research activity.
- PVG Scheme membership or record; if not a current member for the required regulatory group (child and/or adult), a successful Disclosure Scotland application is required before commencement.
