Medical Lab Scientist

Our Client, a Clinical Laboratory company, is looking for a Medical Lab Scientist I for their Indianapolis, IN location.

• Responsibilities are interchangeable within job titles of medical laboratory scientist (MLS), medical technologist or clinical laboratory scientist.
• Work environment/department will be listed in requirement. Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving. Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls. Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed. Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Testing production samples on chemistry and Automated Immunology platforms. This Tech role is for IVDR remediation support. Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Working for a large company such as Client. Assisting the team in a time of need.

• Minimum 1 year of CLIA lab experience
• Minimum 6-months of pertinent clinical laboratory testing experience is required.
• Some instrument experience
• We’ll need an individual to have clinical laboratory testing experience at the level of a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist within a core laboratory.
• MLT, MT, Bachelors of science with minimum 12 hours of Biology and 12 hours of Chemistry credits
