The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the front-facing representative for patients seeking diagnostic services. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality phlebotomy
, specimen preparation, and patient-centered care while adhering to strict safety, quality, and confidentiality standards
. This position supports coverage during FMLA leave and plays a key role in maintaining patient satisfaction and operational continuity in a fast-paced clinical environment
.
- Perform venipuncture and capillary collections
, including pediatric and geriatric patients - Prepare and process clinical and forensic specimens following established procedures
- Verify patient demographics, specimen labeling, and obtain patient signature post-collection
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Complete daily activities accurately and on time under direction of the area supervisor
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional patient environment
- Provide float coverage across PSC and In-Office Phlebotomy locations as needed
- Exercise sound judgment when making decisions within established procedures
- Communicate openly and professionally with patients, peers, and supervisors
- Adapt to changing schedules, staffing needs, and workload priorities
Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to error-free work
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Keyboarding and data entry proficiency
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training
- Phlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, and WA; preferred elsewhere)
- Minimum 2 years of PSC experience
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if applicable)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting
- Commitment to company policies, safety standards, and professional conduct
