Pharmacy Technician Job Description
Pharmacy operations require timely and precise data entry to maintain workflow efficiency. This role reduces bottlenecks in prescription processing and supports pharmacists in focusing on clinical responsibilities. Data Entry Technicians are responsible for the entry and processing of medication orders via Pharmacy's operating system.
ResponsibilitiesReorder requests
Triaging or sorting incoming medication orders for processing according to delivery deadlines
Processing all new medication orders according to delivery deadlines, including controlled medications, leave of absence orders, and customer-configured order fulfillment
Complete all tasks and duties in accordance and compliance with HIPAA guidelines, state and federal laws, and current company policies and procedures
High school diploma or GED
Registered pharmacy technician in the applicable state
Previous data entry experience
Knowledge of Brand/Generic medications and Sig codes
Moderate to advanced computer and typing skills, including Microsoft Office applications
Basic math skills
Skills & Qualifications
Long Term Care experience preferred
Knowledge of Framework or Docutrack is a plus
New Jersey Board of Pharmacy - Pharmacy Technician certification required
PTCB or equivalent certification not required
The work is located in a closed-door pharmacy in Indianapolis, Indiana. The hours are from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM ET with alternating weekends. The dress code is business/smart casual. The interview process consists of 1-2 virtual rounds.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.75 - $19.00/hr.
