EMR Access Lead
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) who is Epic EMR certified, has a strong background in ambulatory and inpatient care, and possesses experience in Clinical Information Services (IS). This role bridges clinical knowledge with information security, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and safeguarding patient data within Epic systems. The position involves onsite work in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct information and security compliance audits of the Epic EMR and related clinical systems to ensure adherence to organizational and regulatory standards (HIPAA, Joint Commission, etc.).
- Review and validate user access provisioning and role‑based access controls for Epic and other clinical applications.
- Identify and report security risks, workflow gaps, and compliance issues; recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Clinical IS and IT Security teams to maintain secure and compliant Epic environments.
- Collaborate on Epic system upgrades, testing, and validation as an Info Sec liaison.
- Utilize Epic reporting tools to monitor access logs, audit trails, and compliance metrics.
- Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures for clinical information security.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN);
Master’s Degree preferred. - Licensure:
Current RN license in the state of Indiana. - Certification:
Epic EMR certification (ambulatory or inpatient). - Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience in ambulatory and inpatient settings.
- Hands‑on experience with Epic EMR workflows and Clinical IS operations.
- Strong understanding of security compliance auditing and access provisioning processes.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare compliance regulations.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Familiarity with Epic security tools and audit reporting.
- Experience with compliance frameworks and risk management in healthcare IT.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and strong communication skills.
- Experience communicating at all levels within healthcare settings.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (required).
- Master's Degree preferred.
- 7–10 years of relevant experience.
