Job Summary: The Phlebotomist (Patient Services Representative II) serves as a key representative to patients seeking routine or diagnostic laboratory services. This role focuses on drawing high-quality blood specimens, preparing them for lab testing, and maintaining an atmosphere of trust and confidence during all patient interactions. The position emphasizes leadership behaviors, process excellence, confidentiality, and adaptability across various work environments such as patient service centers and physician offices.

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily work activities accurately, efficiently, and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, professional, and service-focused work environment.
  • Confidently perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established procedures.
  • Verify patient demographic information, initials, and post-venipuncture signature to ensure accurate labeling.
  • Maintain required records, logs, and documentation per procedural guidelines.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, and coworkers.
  • Communicate clearly with patients, explaining procedures and ensuring safe, skilled blood collection.
  • Travel to and support multiple Patient Service Center or in-office locations with minimal notice.
  • Participate in training sessions at various locations depending on trainer availability.
Required Experience
  • 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Ability to perform accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
  • Ability to make good decisions based on existing procedures and sound judgment.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, overtime, and travel as required.
Nice-to-Have Experience
  • Two years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment.
  • Experience in customer service within retail or service settings.
