You will be responsible for assisting the State Director, Site Commander, and the Executive Officer in the execution of their duties at Mustatatuck Urban Training Center. This includes performing data collection, analysis, and presentation. You must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable NACI clearance for access to the Federal network. Muscatatuck Urban Training Center is a simulated urban warfare training environment.
You may be expected to participate as a component of the simulated urban warfare, terrorist or homeland security training operations.
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $37,648.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the LifeThe essential functions of this role are as follows:
- Provides advanced administrative support to an agency, department, or facility.
- Reviews the organizational structure and functions of assigned program area to recommend changes to promote effectiveness.
- Administers staff functions in support of program area.
- Aids program administrator in applying agency or department policies and procedures.
- Represents program administrator in meetings with representative of other agencies, and interested public to explain and interpret program goals, policies, and procedures.
- Prepares, evaluates, and maintains administrative reports, policies, and procedures for different program areas

What You'll Need for SuccessIndividuals in this role should minimally be able to articulate or demonstrate the following:
- Specialized knowledge of theories, principles, and practices of administrative management.
- Working knowledge of state governmental administrative structure.
- Working knowledge of assigned program area.
- Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and multitask.
- Ability to coordinate and motivate professional and support personnel.
- Ability to communicate, both orally and verbally, with diverse public.
- Attention to detail and proofreading skills.
- Ability to establish cooperative work relationships.
- Ability to analyze, update and write procedures and policies.
A degree is not required. However, at least 5+ years of experience applying the outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role may be considered.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct ReportsThis role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
