Entry-level Civil or Environmental EngineerCome be a part of a roadway design group that has a great mix of emerging professionals and senior design engineers/project managers. Provide technical assistance for the design of local infrastructure projects and develop your career through mentoring. Tasks include basic assistance with design calculations, plan production, cost estimates of roadways, trails, roundabouts, and roadway drainage systems. Generate accurate, concise documentation and maintain quality that meets or exceeds industry standards for design, safety, and functionality.

- Assist and support design teams in execution of projects.
- Provide technical support in various stages of projects, including preliminary design, final design and contract documentation including cost estimates and specifications.
- Discuss and propose solutions to technical issues during design.
- Maintain positive team relationships.
- Assist and coordinate with key staff across disciplines (i.e., drainage, structures) as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
- 0 to 1 year of relevant post‑education experience.
- Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
- Familiarity with relevant civil construction codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record‑keeping requirements.
- Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non‑engineering audience.
- Proficient self‑leadership with attention to detail, multi‑tasking, and prioritization in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
- Basic proficiency in technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology and tools.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project‑specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project‑specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Engineer in Training Certification.
- Familiarity with discipline‑specific design software (Micro Station, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, InRoads, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS).
- Prior internship related to the degree of study and the specific engineering discipline.
- A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations.
Indianapolis, IN. Salary range: $55,000.00 – $90,000.00.
