Civil 3D Technician - Civil Engineering - Base Salary to 42.00/hour - Indianapolis, IN

The Civil 3D Technician role is a mid-level technical role responsible for supporting engineering and design teams in the preparation of two-dimensional and three-dimensional construction documents for infrastructure and development projects.

This position collaborates closely with engineers, project managers, designers, and technicians to produce accurate technical drawings and construction plan sets for environmental, transportation, utility, survey, and right-of-way projects.

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, designers, and technicians to produce graphic representations of civil engineering projects.
• Prepare detailed construction drawings and plan sets, including layout plans, roadway geometry, utility plans, grading plans, profiles and cross sections, summary tables and supporting documentation.
• Develop architectural and structural details based on project requirements and engineering guidance.
• Assist with the preparation of plans for roadways, highways, bridges, water distribution systems, sanitary and storm sewers, airport infrastructure, and site development projects.
• Develop Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) and detour plans for transportation projects.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to create, modify, and annotate design models and integrate them into construction drawing sets.
• Apply company and regulatory drafting standards to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain and organize drafting files, drawings, and project documentation.
• Assist with printing and assembling construction plan sets for project deliverables.
• Perform quality control and quality assurance reviews of project drawings and documentation.
• Support engineering teams with field investigations, quantity takeoffs, cost estimate computations, and other project support tasks.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior Civil Technicians when needed.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget.

• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Civil Drafting, or a related field, or 3+ years of professional experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D in civil engineering design support.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Knowledge of civil engineering drafting standards and procedures.
• Familiarity with infrastructure design projects including transportation, utilities, and site development.

• Base salary in the 35.00 - 42.00/hour range.
