Sales Engineer / E-Commerce Specialist
Department: Engineering
Location: Milford, IN
Reports To: Engineering Manager
Position Summary
The Sales Engineer / E-Commerce Specialist supports domestic and international sales teams by preparing accurate quotes, managing projects, and maintaining the company's E-Commerce configuration system. This role serves as the technical liaison between Sales, Customer Service, and Engineering to ensure successful quoting, order accuracy, and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Quoting & Project Management (50%)
- Review and log specially configured quote requests
- Develop pricing, equipment layouts, and supporting drawings
- Manage quoting tools to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Submit quotes and track turnaround time, win rates, and financial performance
- Support order follow-up to ensure accurate parts lists and project execution
- Maintain and update product configurators (new parts, substitutions, and engineering changes)
- Develop and enhance quoting tools and system functionality
- Program system updates or coordinate with external developers
- Test configurations to ensure accuracy and performance
- Associate degree required;
Bachelor's degree in technical or programming field preferred - 1-2 years of experience in project management, design, or related technical field
- Proficiency in Excel (formulas/macros), Word, internet tools, and AutoCAD
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Independent, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
- Strong collaboration and cross-functional communication skills
- High ethical standards and customer-focused mindset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
- Primarily office environment with occasional manufacturing floor visits (PPE required)
- Less than 10% travel, including potential international travel
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
