Reports To:Director of Engineering
Type:Full-Time, Non-Exempt with Full Benefit Package

Provide drafting support across all departments, delivering accurate drawings and documentation for installed customer systems. Support pre-sales activities by producing drawings for proposals and submittals. Work closely with system engineers to develop comprehensive construction drawings from concept through completion. Update drawings to generate as-built documentation reflecting installed conditions.
This is a high-output role on a fast-moving team; accuracy, ownership, and the ability to manage a full project queue are essential.

• Develop system drawings and project documentation for assigned projects, managing multiple deadlines simultaneously.
• Produce accurate shop drawings and submittals for sales quotations and contractor review.
• Update and maintain as-built drawings for completed installations.
• Provide drafting support to Sales and Technical staff pre- and post-sales.
• Assist Sales Department with drawing packages for proposals and submittals.
• Maintain proficiency in AutoCAD 2024 or newer, including sheet creation, external references, annotation, and viewport scaling.
• Participate in professional development and stay current on technologies offered by the company.
• Comply with company policies and health/safety standards.
• Promote effective teamwork and collaboration.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Accountable to the Director of Engineering, with secondary accountability to management, employees, and customers.

• Minimum 5 years' drafting experience in Electronic, Communication, or Life Safety systems, or equivalent education and experience.
• Proficient in producing construction drawings from concept to completion; this is a production role, not a support role.
• Strong knowledge of sheet creation, external references, annotation, viewport scales, and model space text and block sizing.
• Experience with AutoCAD 2024 or newer required; LISP routines a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
• Valid and current driver's license.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Responsible, self-motivated, and well-organized; you manage your own workload without needing to be chased.
• Strong interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with engineers, sales staff, and field teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and hit real deadlines.
• Effective planning and organizational skills; able to adapt quickly when priorities shift.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite.

Minimal travel required.

• Ability to stand, walk, climb, sit, and use hands and fingers.
• Some light lifting is required.
• Reaching, grasping, and carrying activities.
• Moderate noise level in work environment.
• Primarily indoor work: occasional outdoor activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
