Key Responsibilities
- Design HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial buildings, including air distribution, ventilation, heating, and cooling systems.
- Perform mechanical load calculations, equipment selection, duct and pipe sizing, and layout design.
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and energy efficiency requirements (e.g., IMC, IECC, ASHRAE).
- Prepare construction documents including mechanical drawings, specifications, and schedules using Revit and/or AutoCAD.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in HVAC load calculation software (e.g., Trane TRACE, HAP) and design tools (Revit, AutoCAD).
- Strong understanding of mechanical codes and standards.
- Familiarity with energy modeling and sustainable design practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
- EIT certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience with LEED or other green building standards.
- Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams.
