Job Summary

As an Automation Technician at Georg Utz, you will play a vital role in supporting our automation systems, including Universal Robots (UR) and machine vision technologies. Working closely with the Automation Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to help maintain, troubleshoot, and operate our automated production processes.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the routine maintenance and calibration of UR robots and machine vision systems.
  • Perform repairs and replacements of automation components as needed to ensure continuous operation.
  • Execute pre-existing UR robot programs and monitor their performance during production.
  • Report any issues or deviations to the Automation Engineer for further analysis.
  • Assist in the setup and operation of machine vision systems for quality control and inspection purposes.
  • Collaborate with the Automation Engineer to optimize vision algorithms and configurations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and robot performance.
  • Provide detailed reports on any abnormalities or maintenance requirements.
  • Participate in training sessions to improve your understanding of automation systems.
  • Collaborate with the Automation Engineers and production teams to implement automation solutions effectively.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Report any safety concerns or hazards promptly.
  • Maintain inventory of components for all equipment and BOM creation.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications are a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to innovative technologies and automation processes.
  • Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks and handle equipment.
