Bascom Hunter’s Power & Control Group (PCG) is building advanced aerospace and defense hardware, including high-performance Environmental Control Systems (ECS), power systems and air‑moving machinery for demanding Aerospace and Defense platforms.
We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer who will play a crucial role in the design and testing of electrical systems used in high-performance fan, compressor, and generator development who can own performance, drive power‑density improvements, and shape next‑generation system architectures.
What You’ll Do- Electrical component design: Support the design, development and testing of electro‑mechanical systems (fans, compressors, generators).
- Prototype Development: Participate in the prototyping and assembly of new product under development.
- Testing and Characterization: Support the testing and characterization of components using power supplies, power analyzers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
- Documentation: Create and maintain accurate documentation, including schematics, layout files, test plans, and reports, for designs and testing activities.
- System Integration: Support system integration of power electronics with high performance machines.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including mechanical, controls, and system performance engineers to ensure performance aligns with system‑level requirements.
- Problem Solving: Identify and troubleshoot issues during design, testing, and integration phases, propose and implement effective solutions.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 3+ years of engineering experience with strong EE fundamentals, preferably in Aerospace & Defense Industry. (graduate research, internships or co‑op experience will be considered).
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including power electronics.
- Experience with laboratory equipment and test instrumentation for measurements and analysis.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- U.S. Citizen (due to program requirements).
- Experience with high‑voltage (270 VDC – 600 VDC) systems.
- Familiarity with aerospace standards: MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, DO-160.
- Familiarity with AS9100D development environments and structured design reviews.
Solidworks Electrical / PDM, MATLAB & Simulink, Altium, PLM/PDM systems, ERP/MRP (Deltek Costpoint or similar), MS Office/Teams/SharePoint.
