Our integrator client here in Indianapolis is seeking a Controls Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent, direct hire basis.

Location:
- 5648 West 74th Street. Indianapolis, IN 46278 – for the first month
- After that – onsite at project site, which is 1555 S Harding St, Indianapolis, IN 46285 on a hybrid schedule!
Permanent Position: $80,000 to 90,000 + overtime and bonuses will equate to $100K+ in total compensation.
PURPOSE: This role is responsible for designing and implementing hardwired control systems and PLC software, following established OTI software standards, with minimal management assistance. This resource will design and develop all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment and machinery for our clients, end clients. They can be responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software.
The Controls Design Engineer works closely with Project Managers through weekly reviews to manage scope, budget, schedules, design milestones, and required documentation. The position requires frequent and effective communication with customers, proactive identification and reporting of scope or budget changes, and the creation of engineering change requests and purchase requisitions as needed.
This role also ensures strict adherence to engineering methods, safety standards, documentation practices, and timely submission of all project records and timesheets.
Must Have Requirements:
- 3- 7 years of experience working as an electrical/controls design engineer.
- Experience troubleshooting existing control systems and equipment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to Project Management and customers are required.
- PLC and HMI Programing experience (primarily Rockwell and Allen Bradley) from scratch - Will do custom PLC and HMI programming/automation for their client’s needs!
Plusses:
- Vision experience with Cognex and/or Keyence cameras
- Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
- Experience with Ignition Data Bases
- Experience working in a Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
