Position: MEP Superintendent I - Water Treatment
Location: Indianapolis

MEP Superintendent I – Water Treatment at Mortenson.

Mortenson is seeking an experienced MEP Superintendent (Water Treatment) with strong communication skills and a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects. The role involves reviewing, analyzing, and resolving field coordination issues while ensuring that all field activities align with project objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Provide coordination, planning, and supervision for MEP scopes of work.
  • Develop and enhance customer relationships by providing excellent service.
  • Plan and implement logistics to ensure materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule.
  • Review construction documents for completeness and constructability.
  • Review and understand contract documents.
  • Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepancies.
  • Participate in the development and management of project schedules, including three‑ and six‑week look‑ahead schedules.
  • Develop a site logistics plan.
  • Manage the utilization of Mortenson tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate with project partner superintendents.
Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction, civil, architectural, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or 10 years of trade experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of construction experience with at least 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably with a mechanical or electrical contractor.
  • Preferred: water‑treatment plant experience.
  • Ability to fulfill responsibilities for multiple, complex data‑center projects.
  • Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
  • Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
  • Positive and professional attitude with strong customer‑service skills.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies.
  • Active listening skills and effective communication, including openness to diverse input and feedback.

  • Current driver’s license.

Compensation

Base pay range: $111,400 – $167,100. Pay may be higher for the following office locations:
Denver, CO and Chicago, IL (+5%), Seattle, WA and Portland, OR (+10%), Washington, D.C. (+12.5%). The position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
