Brand Description

The Sr Specialist‑Warehouse – Engineering is responsible for on‑shift monitoring and response for the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS), conveyors and Automated Guided Vehicles supporting Indianapolis Parenteral Manufacturing. The role provides first‑line support to production processes, supports area engineering initiatives, process improvements, and project implementation. The specialist will develop expertise in warehouse automation systems, maintenance execution, commissioning, qualification and validation requirements, and equipment or control system technologies.

They will help ensure equipment stays in a qualified state, operates safely, and maintenance is performed properly.

Key Objectives / Deliverables
  • Monitor Warehouse Automation Systems for faults, errors and issues preventing delivery of production materials to manufacturing processes
  • Perform periodic and break/fix maintenance on the ASRS, conveyors, AGVs and ancillary systems
  • Assure that operational and maintenance procedures reflect safety concerns
  • Find and eliminate safety issues with equipment and processes
  • Participate in safety reviews and audits as required
  • Perform activities in accordance with cGMPs and applicable procedures
  • Understand the production process and critical process parameters
  • Identify opportunities to improve quality using equipment performance data and ensuring maintenance is performed appropriately
  • Work with the process team, including engineers and operations personnel, to develop equipment design, procedures, studies and maintenance practices that enable the process to operate as required
  • Seek out and identify opportunities to improve equipment operational effectiveness and reliability
  • Provide technical support for process and engineering teams
  • Monitor specific plant data for out‑of‑control signals and investigate causes; attend and participate in team meetings
  • Provide technical support to engineering in investigating and resolving issues that create production delays
  • Transfer knowledge of equipment capabilities and operational techniques to operators, engineering and maintenance
  • Implement tools for operations and engineering to learn and work more proficiently
  • Coordinate contractors and vendors
  • Create maintenance action plans as needed to support maintenance and troubleshooting activities
  • Participate in periodic reviews of equipment state
  • Plan and execute small projects for process or equipment improvements or changes
Minimum Requirements
  • Associate’s Degree (or equivalent work experience)
  • 5 years of manufacturing or skilled trade experience
Additional Preferences
  • Knowledge of warehousing operations, equipment & automation, ASRS, AGVs, conveyors
  • Knowledge of parenteral manufacturing operations
  • Experience with Maximo or similar CMMS
  • Experience in a GMP manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Other Information
  • This position is for 12‑hour days on a 3‑2‑2‑3 shift pattern
  • Minimal travel required
  • Applicants will work in various areas within the parenteral plant; allergens are present and should be considered

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is $28.84 – $46.54 per hour.
