Modeling and Simulation Engineer

Location: Indianapolis, IN – 6125 E 21st St

Schedule: Hybrid – At least 3 days per week onsite

Duration: 6-12 month contract to permanent hire

• W2 contract
• $x1.5 for any overtime

Pay Rate: $63/hr max

• 6+ years of experience in multi-domain modeling
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink tools
• --Adams by Hexagon can work too
• --1D modeling in these tools
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

• Master’s in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience with Actuator systems
• DOD or Aerospace experience

Insight Global is seeking a highly motivated Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join one of our large DOD customers in Indiana. The Modeling and Simulation Engineer will be focusing on multi-domain physics and aerospace systems, specifically actuators.

You’ll play a pivotal role in developing advanced simulation models, validating designs, and collaborating across disciplines to advance research and product development in cutting‑edge aerospace technologies. This hybrid position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of model‑based engineering practices while working with state‑of‑the‑art tools and global teams.

• Model Development:
  Create and validate multi-domain physics-based models and simulations for actuators, thermal fluid systems, and mechanical systems.
• Experimentation:
  Conduct experimental testing and hardware‑in‑the‑loop setups for model validation and accuracy improvement.
• Systems Integration:
  Support controls and actuator integrations for system‑level simulations and performance analyses.
• Collaboration and Leadership:
  Work with interdisciplinary global teams and mentor junior engineers to drive innovation and modeling best practices.
• Documentation:
  Produce verification artifacts, analysis reports, and system documentation to ensure traceability and compliance.
