Overview
Engineer in Charge – IMS Productions. IMS Productions is seeking an Engineer in Charge to support live sports and large-scale remote broadcast productions. This is a senior, hands-on engineering leadership role responsible for the technical operation, maintenance, and performance of a mobile unit in fast-paced, live-event environments.
IMS Productions is part of Penske Entertainment, a leading provider of world-class sports and entertainment. The organization includes Indianapolis Motor Speedway, INDYCAR, and IMS Productions.
The Engineer in Charge serves as the on-site technical lead, ensuring systems are fully operational, crews are supported, and productions run smoothly from pre-event preparation through post-event reporting. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership under pressure, and a collaborative approach to live production.
This is a full-time, exempt position based in Indianapolis with frequent travel to support live events and remote productions.
Responsibilities- Overseeing the operation, upkeep, and readiness of the mobile unit
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing broadcast and support systems
- Leading and supervising engineering staff and drivers on-site
- Supporting live production setup, execution, and teardown
- Troubleshooting technical issues in real time during live events
- Completing accurate technical reports and maintenance documentation
- Representing IMS Productions on-site with professionalism and a focus on quality and safety
