Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the day‑to‑day operations of the surveying department, ensuring timely and accurate completion of projects.
  • Oversee data collection and survey operations for boundary, topographic, route, and engineering design surveys.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand project requirements, manage expectations, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to survey staff, promoting professional growth and ensuring effective teamwork.
  • Ensure all surveying activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct fieldwork as needed, including construction layout and calculations for land and civil engineering projects.
  • Manage computer file systems and ensure the accurate transfer of data between field instruments, legal descriptions, and construction plans.
  • Maintain proficiency with key software tools, including AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and other relevant surveying technologies.
  • Work collaboratively with the civil engineering team to support the overall goals of the firm.
  • Uphold the companys values of integrity, client focus, and teamwork, while driving innovation and efficiency within the department.
Qualifications
  • Professional Surveyor (PS) licensure is required.
  • Extensive experience in land surveying, including boundary, topographic, route, and engineering design surveys.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and other relevant software.
  • Strong knowledge of construction layout, field calculations, and transferring data between legal descriptions, plans, and fieldwork.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience managing surveying teams and overseeing field operations.
  • Ability to manage client relationships, prioritize tasks, and work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear and accurate survey notes.
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on accuracy.
