Safety Advisor – General Industry
SMG is a national professional service organization that provides workplace safety consulting, training, staffing, program planning, and implementation. This role is based in Central Indiana and involves traveling to client sites across the state. It requires putting safety at the forefront of work, prioritizing client needs, and functioning well in a team while being self‑managed and flexible.
Responsibilities- Site safety observations and documentation of findings
- Safety program review and development
- Perform site audits and assessments for General Industry clients
- Provide training to clients
- Administer Safety Partner Program to multiple General Industry clients
- Verify compliance with safety policies and procedures required by law, owner, and contractors
- Provide incident management and support
- Prepare documentation and reports
- Four or more years of General Industry safety experience
- Degree in safety or related field preferred
- ASP or CSP certification preferred but not required
- Experience reviewing safety programs
- Experience providing training and site audits
- First‑aid/CPR certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- OSHA 30‑hr General Industry certification
- Moving long distances
- Ascending/descending stairs and ladders
- Remaining stationary for prolonged periods
- Working in extreme weather
- Exposed to loud noises
- Wearing personal protective gear correctly
