We have an exciting career opportunity for a Technical Specialist (II/III) to join our team!
Job SummaryThe successful candidate supports the Underground Engineering & Construction (UE&C) department and the Capital Project Delivery Team, working on water distribution and wastewater collection system projects, including the lead service line replacement program.
Responsibilities- Under general supervision, use electronic applications, document control processes, and engineering standards to create, modify, and review deliverables.
- Support multiple construction projects of medium to high complexity, ensuring compliance with scope, budget, schedule, quality, and safety.
- Provide technical expertise to guarantee design conformance and safety during construction.
- Coordinate deliverables with other project groups to minimize interference or errors.
- Engage with contractors, designers, engineers, consultants, other Citizens departments, and external agencies to resolve technical issues.
- Work with internal and external staff performing construction inspection services.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma, equivalency Certificate, or sufficient education acceptable by management.
- 2 years related experience and/or training or 1 year of Citizens experience.
- Valid driver’s license in the United States;
State of Indiana driver’s license required within 30 days of first day of employment. - Safe driving record with no history of serious traffic violations, accidents, suspensions/revocations, or DUI/DWI convictions within the last three years.
- Understands and applies Computer Automated Drafting Design (CADD), information modeling, or other design or modeling skills and/or design principles and practices.
- Basic knowledge of engineering standards, systems, document control, departmental guides and Citizens policies and procedures.
- Intermediate ability to interpret engineering deliverable content as assigned.
- Ability to work in office and field environments with minimal direct supervision.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- High School Diploma, equivalency Certificate required, or sufficient education acceptable by management.
- 4 years related experience and/or training or 2 years of Citizens experience.
- Valid driver’s license in the United States;
State of Indiana driver’s license required within 30 days of first day of employment. - Safe driving record with no history of serious traffic violations, accidents, suspensions/revocations, or DUI/DWI convictions within the last three years.
- Associates Degree in Construction or Engineering technology.
- Basic knowledge of Citizens Energy Group’s Sanitary and/or Water Standards.
- General experience with design or review of water and/or sewer construction drawings.
- Experience in appropriate electronic applications and programs required for performing assignments, including CADD.
- Interprets engineering deliverables with intermediate proficiency.
- Ability to work in office and field environments, with strong teamwork and minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
