About the Role

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for being the technical lead on Value Engineering projects and Supplier Transitions focused on cost savings. This position reports to the Procurement Engineering Manager and is part of the Global Procurement Engineering Team located in Indianapolis; it will be an on‑site role.

In This Role
  • Lead Value Engineering cost‑reduction redesign projects: develop prototype ideas, draft and obtain approval on the Design Change Plan, perform verification testing, and transfer the new design to production.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional collaboration with Development, Quality, Compliance, Service, and Operations teams to keep design‑change projects on schedule and resolve emerging roadblocks.
  • Lead supplier transitions: draft and approve Qualification Plans, work closely with new suppliers on Component Qualification Reports, and answer technical questions about parts.
  • Collaborate with Supplier Quality and Procurement teams on supplier selections and qualification activities for cost‑savings projects; update or correct documents via Change Order as needed.
Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 2‑3 years of product development/engineering support experience, or a Master’s degree with up to 2+ years of experience.
  • Technical expertise in electronic design of power supply, motor driver, digital logic, analog circuit, and/or microprocessor circuits.
  • Self‑starter who can focus efforts, overcome obstacles, and complete key objectives.
Travel &

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel – 5% of time typically to supplier sites.
  • Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 20 lb.
Preferred Experience
  • Instrumentation (equipment) design and integration experience, including complex electro‑mechanical systems, fluid handling, pneumatics, thermal systems, and/or optical systems.
  • Demonstrated capability to troubleshoot and improve electrical and electromechanical systems using formal problem‑solving methodology with analytical and statistical methods.
  • Experience with design changes in a structured design control/change environment for medical devices.
  • Experience in electronic circuit simulation/modeling software.
