The ideal candidate will have strategic global commodity management experience across electromechanical commodities. He/she needs to have experience in the automotive industry. He/she needs to have experience working with cross‑functional teams across various regions. He/she should have a successful track record of managing suppliers at all levels of management to achieve objectives, successfully managing and negotiating pricing globally.
Key Responsibilities- Managing Garrett global commodities of electromechanical components and system.
- Continuously defining and executing commodity/supplier strategies for all Garrett locations/regions to keep a healthy supplier panel across all regions.
- Leading purchasing market activities and working closely with internal stakeholders to support business growth by identifying and developing suppliers and new technologies.
- Planning and controlling AOP for the commodity to deliver on key goals such as achieving YOY productivity targets, improving working capital, and efficient utilization of CAPEX.
- Tracking and managing generic parts capacity on a regular basis; assessing and planning the addition of capacity by working closely with the supply chain and regional procurement teams to ensure no capacity issues.
- Working closely with product line sourcing managers for on‑time sourcing of platform parts at best cost.
- Negotiating with suppliers on price, supplier agreements, general terms and conditions, consignment stock agreement, and raw material and FX indexation agreement.
- Supporting NPI team, supplier quality, supply chain, and regional procurement team for supplier‑related issues (comprehensive ownership of supplier performance).
- Continuously working with all stakeholders like suppliers, engineering, quality, etc., to generate a good pipeline of VAVE ideas.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 5–8 years of experience in strategic sourcing, global commodity management.
- Strong buying, negotiation, and agreement/contract administration skills.
- Good analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage/lead multiple projects and changing priorities.
- Willingness to stretch and work with different time zones.
- Effective team participant.
- Ability to challenge the status quo and generate new ideas.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office.
