Job SummaryTake ownership of a high voltage power distribution system that keeps a major industrial operation running. This role is ideal for an experienced Electrical Engineer who thrives in fast moving environments, enjoys hands on leadership, and wants to directly influence safety, reliability, and long term infrastructure planning.
You will step into a highly visible position supporting plant wide power systems, overseeing critical maintenance activities, and leading large scale capital projects, including upcoming transformer upgrades and major electrical improvements. This is a proactive backfill due to retirement, offering full overlap and training with the current engineer.
Job Responsibilities- Manage and maintain plant wide power distribution systems up to 345kV.
- Oversee substation equipment, switch gear, transformers, and protective relays.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures for all electrical power assets.
- Provide daily engineering support to plant electricians and maintenance teams.
- Lead capital projects, including major transformer replacements and construction modifications.
- Plan and organize electrical shutdowns and coordinate cross functional resources.
- Interview, train, and guide electrical maintenance personnel.
- Participate in safety initiatives and drive continuous improvement within the department.
- Serve as project engineer on electrical upgrades and infrastructure expansions.
- Remain flexible and adaptable in a dynamic environment where priorities shift quickly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- Strong understanding of HV/MV power systems, transformer maintenance, switch gear, and protective relaying.
- Experience supporting electricians, maintenance crews, or plant power distribution.
- Proven ability to collaborate with multiple departments and manage competing priorities.
