Join Jacobs as a Structural Engineer in the Life Sciences sector, based in Indianapolis, Indiana (Req 34453). This role focuses on designing and supporting state‑of‑the‑art pharmaceutical facilities, ensuring schedule and technical quality of engineering tasks. Candidates will provide on‑site assistance during startup, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and mentor junior professionals. The position is hybrid, requiring presence in the office 2–3 days a week.
Basepay range
$85,000.00/yr – $/yr
Responsibilities- Design building structures, equipment platforms, foundation systems, MPS, and tank/support systems; produce accurate design calculations and drawings.
- Coordinate with other disciplines and discipline lead for project delivery.
- Provide on‑site assistance during startup and commissioning.
- Mentor and coach other professionals to enhance team performance.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience designing building structural systems.
- Working knowledge of building codes.
- Strong proficiency in STAAD and STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- U.S. citizen.
- Professional Engineering license or path to obtain.
- Previous leadership of structural engineers and designers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Forward‑thinking, eagerness to learn best practices, and innovative ideas.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Passion for buildings and construction.
