Lead Structural Engineer

A leading design and engineering firm is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Structural Engineer to join their growing team in Indianapolis, IN.

Location:

Indianapolis, IN.

Base pay range: $90,000.00/yr — $/yr (plus performance-based bonus program).

Employment type:

Full-time.

Seniority level:
Mid-Senior level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and oversee structural systems that meet code requirements and client expectations.
  • Manage multiple projects, coordinating with architects, contractors, and other engineers.
  • Communicate with drafting staff, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare preliminary designs and review building codes for compliance.
  • Produce structural calculations and construction-ready drawings.
  • Coordinate with architects, civil, and mechanical engineers.
  • Manage construction administration tasks including shop drawing reviews and RFIs.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of design documents across disciplines.
Qualifications
  • BS or MS in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 5+ years of structural engineering experience in building design.
  • Proficiency designing with steel, concrete, masonry, and light gauge steel.
  • Proficiency in Revit for structural drawings (preferred).
  • Experience with analysis/design software such as RAM, SAP
    2000, or RISA.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
