Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for an Integration Engineer direct hire position in Indianapolis, IN.
Responsibilities:- This is a small, collaborative engineering department (approximately four team members) responsible for project development, technical support, continuous improvement of engineering processes, and the creation and maintenance of technical engineering documentation.
- The role is highly hands‑on, with approximately 75% of time spent on electrical build, integration, and troubleshooting activities, and roughly 15% allocated to design and documentation efforts. The team integrates and connects complete systems from individual components.
- Design work primarily involves schematic updates or revisions.
- Assemble and wire 24V control systems, including valves, electronic components, I/O modules, relays, circuit breakers, and associated wiring, completing both mechanical and electrical cabinet integration.
- Collaborate closely with software and controls engineering teams to debug code and support system functionality, working alongside multiple engineering disciplines.
- Apply electrical theory and foundational engineering principles daily to ensure proper power, grounding, and system functionality, utilizing hand tools such as pliers and wire cutters as part of regular work.
- Focus primarily on sustaining and maintaining established machines, including rework, troubleshooting, and incremental improvements, rather than net‑new development.
- Create and maintain AutoCAD electrical schematics and electrical cabinet layouts.
- Perform system startup and troubleshooting in both development and production environments.
- Develop and modify ladder logic for proprietary and industry‑standard control systems.
- Perform servo tuning and optimize motion control algorithms.
- Specify electrical components, including servo drives, motors, and contractors, to meet mechanical specifications and performance requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), Electrical Engineering (EE), or a related discipline; candidates with a Mechanical Engineering background may also be considered based on relevant experience and interest.
- 0-1 years of experience.
- Hands‑on experience with electrical work, including wiring, reading electrical schematics, and assembling components within control cabinets.
- Willingness and ability to work hands‑on with CNC machines and learn the machining industry from an OEM perspective.
- Exposure to AutoCAD or Solid Works, including academic or internship experience.
