The Senior Project Manager - Air Quality leads complex air permitting, compliance, and modeling projects for industrial clients nationwide. This role blends full project lifecycle management with advanced technical expertise, trusted client advising, and team leadership to deliver high-quality, profitable outcomes.

Expected Outcomes Client & Stakeholder Leadership
  • Build and execute stakeholder engagement plans; serve as a trusted advisor and translate regulatory requirements into actionable guidance.
  • Set clear expectations and communicate proactively on status, risks, and impacts of changes.
  • Mentor team members, resolve issues, and foster a collaborative project environment.
Project Delivery & Financial Performance
  • Deliver projects safely, on time, and within scope/budget/quality; meet profitability targets while actively managing risk.
  • Lead project administration including proposals, project set-up, forecasting, budget management, invoicing/AR follow-up, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Identify value-add opportunities and support follow-on work with existing and new clients.
Air Quality Technical Leadership
  • Lead air permitting and compliance for new/modified facilities and renewals, including PSD, Nonattainment NSR, Synthetic Minor, True Minor, and Title V permits.
  • Direct dispersion modeling using AERMOD, CALPUFF, and screening methods; QA/QC inputs, assumptions, and results for defensibility.
  • Oversee emissions estimates/inventories and QA/QC of technical deliverables; evaluate controls and support BACT/technology assessments.
  • Provide practical compliance guidance and coach staff on permitting, modeling, and compliance execution.
Operational & Practice Leadership
  • Partner with operations leadership on resourcing, delivery excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to growth of Weston's air quality services, including recruiting, team scaling, and retention.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or environmental-related science from an accredited four-year college or university, or equivalent experience.
  • 10‑15 years of related experience, including 5+ years of air quality consulting experience managing permitting and compliance projects for industrial clients.
  • Experience preparing air permit applications and coordinating with multiple state and local agencies (Southeast experience preferred).
Technical & Professional Capabilities
  • Advanced knowledge of air regulations (NSR/PSD, Title V, and applicable state/local requirements) and environmental compliance principles.
  • Proficiency with air modeling platforms (AERMOD; CALPUFF as applicable) and emissions inventory/reporting tools (e.g., TRI‑ME or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex topics to non‑technical audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and common collaboration/tracking tools.

  • Keeps current on industry trends through training, publications, and professional workshops.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Salary Range: $101,988-$135,198-$168,100
