The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring product quality and customer satisfaction by supporting internal quality systems, manufacturing operations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Ensure product conformity to customer requirements through daily customer interaction
- Respond to customer concerns in a timely manner using established problem‑solving methodologies (5 Why, 5P, 8D, etc.)
- Identify and implement strategies to improve key quality and performance metrics
- Support and maintain internal quality systems, including TS 16949 certification
- Provide quality support to internal manufacturing operations
- Support Lean initiatives and continuous improvement activities
- Lead and/or support A3 projects and Six Sigma activities
- Participate in PFMEA development and maintenance
- Develop, control, and maintain Control Plans and customer‑required inspection standards
Education & Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of Tier 1 automotive experience in a quality engineering role
- OEM experience preferred (Honda, Nissan, Subaru, or Ford)
- Strong problem‑solving skills with experience in Six Sigma, PDCA, and A3 methodologies
- Experience developing and maintaining Control Plans and PFMEAs
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, product prints, and specifications
- Strong background in statistical analysis, including DOE and ANOVA
- Familiarity with or certification in TS 16949
Additional Qualifications
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
- Ability to think critically and make decisions under pressure
- Strong attendance record and willingness to work overtime as needed
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required
