Position Details

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Hourly Non-Exempt

COMPENSATION: Based on Classified Pay Model

WORK CALENDAR: 183 Days

STANDARD

HOURS:

7 Hours/Day

PERF: CPCSC is a Non-PERF District

1:1 Special Education assistants will support students who receive special education services. Their schedules will be driven by students  needs, which are ever-changing. They will work both in and out of the resource/special education classrooms. Duties will include push-in inclusion support, resource room small group/behavior/instructional supports, sensory integration support, and any other special education services needed. They will work under the direction of the teacher or record.

Note:

Professional development for these IAs will be focused upon topics such as IEPs, behavior plans, related services, teaching support strategies, de-escalation, and other relevant training.

• Supervise and tutor students with special needs
• Provide small group one on one instruction to students in need.
• Respect the individual s right to privacy.
• To participate in staff development programs.
• To perform other duties assigned by the building principal.

• The preferred candidate will have experience working with students with special needs
• The preferred candidate will have a teacher s license.
