Kindergarten - 2nd Grade Assistant

Primary Responsibility:

To support the daily operations of the Lower School by assisting with student supervision, classroom support, and logistical needs in a manner that is effective, appropriate, and aligned with the mission and values of Traders Point Christian Schools.

Position Goal:

The goal of this position is to support Traders Point Christian School's mission to challenge and educate students within the framework of a Biblical worldview, leading them to a personal faith and a transformed life in Jesus Christ. This role helps maintain a safe, organized, and relational learning environment where students and teachers can thrive.

At Traders Point Christian Schools, we are Jesus-Centered, Relationally-Driven, and Educationally-Anchored, and the Building Assistant plays an important role in supporting that culture throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide supervision and support for students during arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and transitions throughout the school day.

* Serve primarily in the primary grades (Kindergarten-2nd grade), providing assistance and supervision where needed.

* Provide support to intermediate grades (3rd-4th grade) when additional assistance or supervision is needed.

* Provide classroom coverage when substitute teachers are unavailable, ensuring continuity of instruction and appropriate student supervision.

* Assist teachers with classroom organization, materials, and general classroom support as needed.

* Help maintain a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and families.

* Provide supervision and support during school-wide activities, including chapel, assemblies, and special events.

* Assist with logistical needs around the building, including delivering materials, preparing learning spaces, and supporting daily operations.

* Reinforce school expectations and model Christ-like character while building positive relationships with students.

Qualifications:

We are looking for individuals who align with the mission and culture of Traders Point Christian Schools and enjoy working with students in a school environment.

Preferred qualifications include:

* A strong personal commitment to Christ and alignment with the mission and values of Traders Point Christian Schools.

* Experience working with children in a school, childcare, ministry, or volunteer setting is preferred but not required.

* Strong relational skills and the ability to interact positively with students, teachers, and families.

* Ability to remain calm, organized, and flexible in a dynamic school environment.

* A servant-hearted attitude and willingness to assist where needed throughout the building.

* Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

* Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the school day.

* Ability to supervise students both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

* Ability to lift or move materials up to approximately 25 pounds when assisting with classroom or building needs.

Additional Expectations:

* Support and model the mission and values of Traders Point Christian Schools in all interactions with students and families.

* Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to support the learning environment.

* Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude while serving the school community.

This position will begin in August 2026 and is a full-time, hourly (40 hours/week) position. The schedule is Monday - Friday; 7:30 a.m.
