This position begins in August 2026. The successful candidate will provide classroom, simulation, clinical, and laboratory instruction to nursing students primarily in the area of medical‑surgical nursing. The instructor uses traditional, non‑traditional, and innovative methods of instruction, including technology, and employs effective interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills while teaching in an integrated curriculum designed around the Nurse of the Future

- Instructs and supervises students across classroom, lab, simulation, and clinical settings using a variety of proven educational techniques.
- Works collaboratively with co‑instructors, adjunct faculty, and the entire nursing team.
- Develops written syllabi, course outlines, and all necessary materials to meet end‑of‑course and end‑of‑program student learning outcomes.
- Evaluates students’ knowledge of subject matter taught and monitors students’ scholastic records.
- Prepares and grades exams, including exam blueprinting.
- Works with and promotes the success of adjunct faculty through mentoring, active support, and guidance.
- Continuously builds and updates personal expertise in the subject matter taught, ensuring individual skills are regularly refreshed to stay current with the latest trends and advancements in nursing and nursing education.
- Maintains office hours and engages in the academic life of the college by participating in district, college, and department committees.
- Actively participates in required nursing accreditation activities.
- Adheres to all nursing regulations and codes of ethics, such as AZBN rules, FERPA, HIPAA, and others.
- Graduate degree in nursing and two (2) years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care, OR graduate degree in any field plus a bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) and three (3) years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care.
- Must hold an Arizona registered nurse license in good standing or multi‑state privilege to practice in Arizona by the first day of employment.
- Must be able to meet health and safety requirements including CPR certification, Fingerprint Clearance, and drug testing.
- Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- At least three (3) years experience in medical‑surgical nursing, which may include acute rehabilitation.
- Minimum of two (2) years of teaching in a pre‑licensure registered nurse program.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience creating, implementing, teaching, and evaluating course activities to meet the needs of varied student populations.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience creating and running low and high fidelity simulations throughout a nursing curriculum.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Learning Management Systems, Trac Prac, and My Clinical Exchange.
- Experience working with varied faculty, staff, and students including people representing a wide range of backgrounds, learning styles, and college attendance experiences.
- One year of relevant full‑time MCCCD experience during the previous two years.
- Experience with in other community college systems or higher education institutions is valued and may be considered in addition to MCCCD experience. External candidates are encouraged to apply.
