Curtis Wilson Primary School and Academy (CWPSA), a program of Beech Tree House Center for Child Development, Inc., is seeking an exceptional First Grade Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year.
CWPSA promotes the emotional, physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual development of each child. Position OverviewThe First Grade Teacher is responsible for fostering strong foundational skills in reading, writing, and mathematics while nurturing character, confidence, and curiosity. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- A strong understanding of phonics-based literacy instruction aligned to the Science of Reading
- Experience using data to inform instruction and provide targeted support
- Commitment to high academic standards and joyful learning
- Warm yet firm classroom management rooted in dignity and respect
- Excellent communication skills and a desire to partner closely with families
- A collaborative spirit and openness to feedback
CWPSA teachers play an integral role in cultivating a classroom culture grounded in trust, structure, and encouragement. Our first grade classrooms emphasize phonics mastery, number sense development, study habits, and character formation within a nurturing environment.

Qualifications- Valid Indiana teaching license
- Elementary education background preferred
