The Assessment Program Manager provides leadership for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of a comprehensive assessment program across undergraduate medical education. This role also coordinates the operational integration of the medical school's small‑scale Clinical Simulation Education Center in support of assessment and curricular activities. Simulation responsibilities focus on coordination and alignment with assessment needs, not simulation center leadership or technical support.

Department‑Specific

Responsibilities
  • Leads development and maintenance of a longitudinal assessment blueprint aligned with competencies and learning objectives.
  • Oversees assessment mapping across courses, phases, and instructional settings.
  • Conducts and interprets psychometric and statistical analyses to support assessment quality and validity.
  • Manages large‑scale assessment initiatives, including Objective Structured Clinical Exams (OSCE) and clinical performance examinations.
  • Translates assessment data into clear reports for faculty, leadership, and accreditation purposes.
  • Coordinates scheduling, logistics, and operational readiness of the Clinical Simulation Education Center for assessment and curricular activities.
  • Collaborates with faculty, simulation leadership, standardized patient programs, and technical support teams.
  • Supports continuous quality improvement across assessment and simulation workflows.
General Responsibilities
  • Provides support and guidance to faculty in both individual and group settings regarding instructional support, pedagogical practice, classroom management, and federal regulations like the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and Title IX.
  • Determines additional support needs through consultation and designs resources to meet educational support needs.
  • Participates in educational resources initiatives in coordination with faculty and staff to improve student academic outcomes and classroom experience.
  • Trains teaching assistants, associate instructors, and graders in grading methods, resolving student concerns, and complex issues.
  • Plans seminars, workshops, and other events for faculty, associate instructors, and students, as requested and appropriate by faculty.
  • Advances programs from individual consultations/workshops to larger‑scale transformative events/projects when appropriate.
  • Researches industry trends in the areas of educational theory and practice and incorporates best practices into educational resources initiatives.
  • May oversee student testing administration and consult regularly with students regarding coordination of educational resources.
  • May take on particularly complex consultation opportunities to address significant opportunities in educational support.
Education Required
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Preferred
  • Master's degree in education, assessment, psychometrics, statistics, health professions education, or a related field.
Work Experience Required
  • 5 years of experience in educational assessment, program management, evaluation or a related field.
Preferred
  • Experience in medical or health professions education.
  • Experience supporting OSCEs or simulation‑based assessments.
