Hasten Hebrew Academy of Indianapolis (HHAI), an inclusive Jewish day school serving ages 3 through 8th grade, is seeking one or two college students studying Education, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, or related fields to run and facilitate our Aftercare Program for the 2026–2027 school year.
This is a wonderful opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a small, supportive school community while earning extra income and potential practicum hours.
Monday–Friday
- 3:30–6:00 PM
- Winter months (December–February): approximately 3:30–4:30/5:00 PM
We typically serve 3–6 students per age group:
- Ages 3–5
- K–5
Small group sizes allow for meaningful relationship-building and individualized support.
Responsibilities- Facilitate homework time
- Oversee snack time
- Plan structured activities and supervised free play
- Lead outdoor playground time
- Help students navigate peer relationships
- Maintain a safe, positive, and engaging environment
- Studying Education, Special Education, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
- Interested in gaining experience with diverse learners, including neurodivergent students
- Organized, warm, and confident leading small groups
- Interested in practicing classroom management and child development strategies
Looking to earn extra money while building meaningful experience
- Real leadership experience running a small program
- Opportunity for practicum hours (as applicable to your program)
- Direct experience planning structured time (homework, enrichment, play)
- Exposure to a wide range of children’s personalities and learning profiles
- Mentorship and support from school leadership
- Strong resume builder for future teaching, counseling, or graduate programs
