- Provide clinical, evidence-based therapeutic and skills development services to Clark-Pleasant students, both in individual and group settings
- Provide primary support for high school Academy, Flex, and Success Programs
- Work collaboratively with administrators, counselors, and teachers to develop school-wide and individual behavioral and social/emotional goals
- Serve as an active member in building-level academic and/or behavioral RTI team meetings to develop strategies for student success
- Provide leadership in crisis incident support including assessing risk and developing safety plans, with student families and school administration
- Attend strategic professional development opportunities that support Clark-Pleasant’s student-centric vision of social, emotional and behavioral visions
- Provide professional development to staff based upon these trainings. Trainings include (but are not limited to):
- Trauma:
The neurological impact of trauma and chronic stress - The development of brain architecture
- Disruptive Behavior Disorders and Classroom management strategies
- Mindfulness Strategies in the Classroom
- Complete documentation in a timely and accurate manner through identified platforms and maintaining ethical standards, including submitting notes within 24 hours after service, 95% of the time
- Develop and maintain effective relationships and provide open and professional communication with CPCSC staff, students and parents
- Consult with providers regarding integrated health, current function, medication related- issues, educations support, and any other care related to client/families
- Attend IEP and 504 meetings as requested
- Coordinate services for students in need of substance abuse specialists
- Coordinate re-entry plans for students who have been hospitalized
- Other duties as assigned
- Must hold a Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field, school experience preferred
- Candidate will have an active Licensure (or seeking licensure) as an LCSW, LMHC, LMFT
- Minimum 2 years experience in the mental health field
- Effective in training staff members
- Excellent organization and communication skills

COMPENSATION: $54,894 annually
WORK CALENDAR: 185 Days +5 Days

Position PurposeThe Behavioral Health Specialist works for Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation in order to provide mental health and case management to students identified as benefiting from services. The position will provide assessment, therapy, skills development, and crisis screening and intervention supports. The position will also be a key building-level collaborator for behavioral and social/emotional learning support strategies and increasing positive student and staff competencies.
