Duane Swisher was an educator and swim coach at Western Boone Jr/Sr High School for 24 years. During his tenure he strove to bring out the best in his students and athletes by encouraging hard work and dedication in their endeavors. It is the goal of Duane's family to provide a Western Boone senior swimmer a scholarship to further his or her education at an accredited college or university.

This swimmer must exemplify what Duane Swisher would consider a hard working student athlete.

Have and maintain at least a 3.0 average

Written Requirement: A short essay over what hard work in the classroom and in the pool means to the applicant

Finalist Interview:
No, unless the Swisher family finds it necessary

Tuition & Fees:
Two awards of $250 - one female and one male

Check made payable directly to the higher education institution. Recipient must provide Western Boone Education Foundation with the name and address of the institution
