Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis. They are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals, and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.

Major Responsibilities

Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.

Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.

Supplement and alter lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials as appropriate. Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.

Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful ways that impact learning and foster a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.

Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging online students.

Interact professionally and cooperatively with students and colleagues, complying with College policies.

Maintain a safe, quality online educational environment.

Promote an environment that reflects the diverse backgrounds of students and employees, where everyone feels respected and valued.

This is not an exhaustive list. Other duties may be assigned, conducted within FERPA, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

Data Analytics Program Standards

A qualified faculty member in Data Analytics meets one of the following routes:

Master’s degree or higher in relevant fields or with sufficient coursework and certifications.
Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields with additional certifications or professional experience.

Course Standards

For DBMS courses, faculty must hold relevant industry certifications or have equivalent professional experience.

Must demonstrate ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects diverse backgrounds.
