The Neighborhood Charter Network (NCN) is a grassroots organization that launched in 2016 to manage a growing family of schools in Indianapolis, IN. The mission of NCN is to expand educational equity to the communities we serve.

NCN schools use a sheltered English immersion program to support students identified as English‑language learners (ELs). Our EL teachers are critical to the model, both in terms of direct student services and teacher support. EL teachers provide instructional support to small groups of students inside and outside the classroom, co‑teach with content teachers, plan collaboratively with content teachers, and provide professional development related to EL best practices.

Our work is grounded in data, and EL teachers review student data regularly to adapt instruction and support.

• Collaborate with grade‑level and content teachers for instructional purposes.
• Execute students’ ILPs with integrity.
• Assist the EL Coordinator in filing ILPs, WIDA scores, parent notification letters, etc. at BOY and EOY.
• Assist grade‑level and content teachers in monitoring students’ goals.
• Provide EL instruction to assigned grades based on data.
• Support grade‑level and content teacher implementation of content and language instruction.
• Participate in professional development as required for content and language instruction.
• Attend good cause exemption meetings as requested by the EL coordinator.
• Collaborate with grade‑level and content teachers to complete data analysis after obtaining local and state testing results.
• Participate in school‑level family engagement activities as requested.
• Participate in student‑led conferences as requested.

• Has a passion for working in Indianapolis and working at Enlace Academy.
• Has demonstrated proficiency with using data to drive instructional results.
• Has a dedication to helping children grow and learn.
• Experience with working with English Language Learners.
• Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking in English/Spanish or English/Haitian Creole.
