The Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning (OMPP) is a division within the Family and Social Services Administration, which receives around 18 percent of the state's budget to ensure vital health care coverage to approximately 1 in 4 Hoosiers. OMPP strives to build programs and processes that enable Hoosiers to live in fully engaged communities and reach their greatest emotional, mental, and physical well-being.

This leadership role, Medical Director for the Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning, functions as a clinical executive that reports to the Director of Clinical Operations. Your primary role is to provide leadership to clinical staff supporting clinical policy, utilization management, care management, and quality improvement within Medicaid programs. Your role collaborates with other OMPP Division and FSSA Agency Medical Director Staff and will provide expertise in long-term care services and supports.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in medicine from an accredited school, board certification and licensed to practice medicine in the State of Indiana without restriction plus a minimum of five years leadership experience. Long-term care experience strongly preferred. Managed care, care management, and utilization management experience preferred. Regular travel is required with some overnight stays possible.
Salary StatementThe salary for this position traditionally at $ but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the Life Deliver Patient Care- Provides quality of care consistent with professional standards in their professional discipline
- Documents all patient care information in the medical records accurately and timely.
- Coordinates patient care, treatment, and services with other practitioners and personnel
- Ensures appropriate coverage for care of patients in their absence
- Abides by medical staff organization by laws, rules, and regulations
- Abides by hospital policies and procedures
- Notifies the administration of any adverse action resulting from a malpractice action
- Works with all staff, administration, and community agencies to provide patient care.
- Participates in continuing education programs as assigned.
- Assumes an active role in the education of patients, families, and staff.
- Recruit, select, onboard, and train employees to ensure role responsibilities and expectations are clearly understood while providing opportunities for professional development.
- Set expectations, measure progress, provide ongoing feedback, and evaluate employee performance to ensure work adheres to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
